While a ceasefire agreement was concluded between Hamas and Israel this Wednesday, the release of the Israeli hostages must take place from Sunday.
How many prisoners are still being held? Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire agreement this Wednesday which should lead, as of this Sunday, to the release of the first Israeli hostages.
According to IDF figures, 251 people were kidnapped on October 7 by Hamas terrorists, 94 of whom are still being held in Gaza.
Still according to the Israeli army, 34 hostages died. The remains of the latter must also be repatriated to the Jewish state, in order to be returned to the families, in the “third phase” of the process, Joe Biden explained this Wednesday.
Among those still held in the Gaza Strip, the two French hostages Ofer and Ohad should also be released.
“This evening, my thoughts are with Ofer and Ohad,” wrote Head of State Emmanuel Macron this Wednesday evening.
