The Pittsburgh Penguins will place the name of goaltender Tristan Jarry on waivers, he who has greatly disappointed this season.
We are thus trying to free his lucrative contract from our salary cap. There are still three seasons remaining on his agreement worth $5.375 million annually. Not Kyle Dubas’ best contract.
In 2024-25, Jarry has an 8-8-4 record, a 3.26 goals-against average and a .886 save percentage in 22 games with the Penguins this season.
The 29-year-old goalie also played 5 games in the American League this year. Which he risks extending if no other team claims him on waivers.
It’s a sad outcome for him, when he was the undisputed number one goalkeeper to start the campaign. However, things change quickly in the hockey world when you’re not playing well. This is what happened with Jarry who was overtaken by Alex Nedeljkovic.
