Drake sues Universal Music over Kendrick Lamar’s song Not Like Us

Drake is suing his record label, Universal Group (UMG), over the song Not Like Us They are rival Kendrick Lamar.

The rapper filed a defamation lawsuit in federal court in New York on Wednesday. He blames UMG to have launched the song and to have promoted it, maintaining that it was falsely accuses […] to be a pedophile and we incites violent reprisals against him.

The record company represents both Drake et Kendrick Lamar. The two artists released numerous songs last year in which they insulted each other.

Drake had filed two petitions late last year, which are a preliminary step to prosecution.

The filings document numerous attempts and break-ins that occurred after the song was released.

A security guard was also shot and injured at the singer’s luxury Toronto home.

For nearly 30 minutes while waiting for the ambulance, Drake and others scrambled to keep him alive, applying pressure to the wound with towels. There was blood everywherewe specify in the documents.

Police said the security guard was injured by projectiles fired from a vehicle.

It is also stated that nothing of the sort had happened to Drake or to his family during the twenty years he was in public life.

These events immediately followed and were directly caused by what UMG until May 4, 2024a reference to the launch date of Not Like Us.
