David Hubert spoke on the eve of the Belgian Cup semi-final first leg. He notably mentioned the arrival of Adryelson, new defender of the Mauves.
The days of David Hubert have certainly been busy in recent weeks. With three defeats in a row in the league, and even a qualification that was far from easy against Beerschot, the RSCA coach also had to manage numerous injuries and the integration of new recruits, while discussing the transfer window with his sports director.
On the injury side, at least some good news: Kasper Dolberg, who went out during the break last Sunday, is already back. It remains to be seen whether he will start. Ludwig Augustinsson also returned from injury, and Hubert should therefore not necessarily start the semi-final with a youngster at left back.
Adryelson this Thursday against Antwerp?
But the Mauves also need new blood, and that’s whyAdryelsonBrazilian central defender, arrived on loan from OL. While it was only made official a few hours ago, it could even… play this Thursday. “Adryelson is a typical Brazilian defender, with healthy aggression, very explosive, great relaxation,” begins David Hubert.
“He trained hard with Lyon, so I expected a fit player and he is. His experience can obviously bring something, he won trophies recently with Botafogo,” adds the Anderlecht coach. “He has a lot of professionalism and can also help the young people around him.”
Getting started might be a little risky, given the lack of automatisms with Jan-Carlo Simic. “It’s difficult to say, his papers are barely signed! It will already be a good thing that he is in the group, that he has been able to get to know everyone. We will see tomorrow, but he is available” , recognizes Hubert.
If Adryelson can help out in the Cup and, of course, in the Pro League, neither he nor César Huerta (who will also be in the selection this Thursday) will be able to play in the Europa League, not being registered on the European list.
