Invasion of Ukraine – Ukraine extends martial law and mobilization until May

Martial law and the mobilization of the male population were introduced immediately after the Russian invasion, on February 24, 2022. Initially planned to last 30 days, these measures were perpetuated as the war dragged on.

All men aged 18 to 60 must perform military service and may be conscripted. They may be exempt for social or health reasons, for example if they are single fathers.
