Gabon: Mark Doumba takes the reins of the Economy and succeeds Mays Mouissi | Gabonmediatime.com

The Gabonese government has just undergone a strategic reshuffle with the appointment of Mark Alexandre Doumba to the post of Minister of Economy and Participations. He succeeds Mays Mouissi, appointed in the very first Ndong Sima government. It will have to provide precise answers to questions of debt in particular, thanks to internationally recognized expertise.

Marc Doumba is not a novice in the world of business and finance. A graduate in finance from the prestigious George Washington University, he also earned a Master of Science in Management (MSc) at the London School of Economics (LSE) and a Master in Public Administration (MPA) at the Harvard Kennedy School. These high-level training courses have forged in him a strategic vision and a mastery of complex economic issues.

Professionally, Mark Doumba cut his teeth in investment banking, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, before co-founding and managing private equity and venture capital companies. His experience spans multiple continents, including Africa, the Middle East and Asia, where he has operated in key sectors such as telecoms, banking, healthcare and logistics.

A pan-African entrepreneur

Founder and Managing Director of CLIKAFRIK Group, an innovative pan-African neo-bank, Mark Doumba has made a name for himself in the African entrepreneurial ecosystem. His leadership and ability to innovate earned him recognition by Forbes in 2016 as one of the continent’s most promising entrepreneurs. A recognition that demonstrates its commitment to transforming the African economic landscape. It now remains to be seen whether he will be able to meet the challenge of disengagement.
