The Bafta ceremony is often a prelude to the Oscars, which take place approximately two weeks later in Los Angeles.
Impact of exceptional circumstances
The city is currently facing devastating fires, which has forced the announcement of nominations, now scheduled online for January 23, to be postponed twice. The gala evening, initially scheduled for March 2, is for the moment being maintained. On the other hand, the Critics Choice Awards, scheduled for an upcoming Sunday, had to be postponed.
