Tuesday at 8:09 p.m., SpaceX successfully launched Transporter 12 which carried a Belgian-German satellite from the company Constellr, the start-up which took over the Belgian ScanWorld in 2022, reports L’Echo on Wednesday.
This German company, which today has 80 workers, still has around a dozen employees based in Belgium. It specializes in capturing infrared and hyperspectral images of the Earth. These two technologies make it possible to analyze the temperature of the Earth at ground level from photos taken from space. The data is particularly relevant in the agricultural world. “This is a very useful parameter for monitoring crops. By relying on this type of temperature, we can, for example, detect and even anticipate water stress,” says Mohammad Iranmanesh, managing director of the Belgian offices of Constellr .
