For many consumers, this phenomenon makes access to basic foods and essential products more difficult. If the Ministry of Commerce does not intervene quickly, this situation risks becoming even more problematic, especially for the poorest households.
Increased pressure on consumers
Ramadan is a time when the demand for food products increases significantly. Families prepare richer and more varied meals, which stimulates the consumption of products such as cereals, oil, pulses, meat and fruit. Without effective regulation, this increase in demand opens the way to speculative practices, leading to artificial price inflation.
The role of the Ministry of Commerce
The Ministry of Commerce must act upstream to limit these abuses. Among the possible actions:
1. Rigorous market controls: Intensify inspections to identify and sanction practices of speculation and abusive storage.
2. Price stabilization: Set ceilings for certain essential products to protect consumers.

Consequences of inaction
If no action is taken, the effects will be devastating. Low-income families could find themselves unable to meet their food needs during Ramadan, which would accentuate social inequalities. In addition, popular discontent could emerge, fueling social tension during this already sensitive period.
A call for collective responsibility
Beyond government actions, society as a whole must become aware of the importance of responsible consumption. Limiting excessive purchases, avoiding waste and supporting short circuits can also help alleviate this crisis.
