(AOF) – In December 2024, the consumer price index increases by 0.2% over one month, after -0.1% in November, INSEE said this Wednesday. Energy prices also increased over one month (+0.7% after +0.2%), notably those of gas (+1.5% after -0.5%) and petroleum products (+1. 0% after +0.5%).
Over one year, consumer prices increase by 1.3% in December 2024, as in November. This stability in inflation is explained by the rebound over one year in energy prices (+1.2% after -0.7%) which is offset by the slowdown in service prices (+2.2% after +2.3%), the stabilization of those for food (after +0.2%) and by the slightly greater drop in the prices of manufactured products (-0.4% after -0.3%).
