Adobe is testing a live editing and collaboration feature in Photoshop

Adobe – a publisher that no longer needs to be introduced – has just launched a private beta program aimed at promoting live collaborative editing in Photoshop.

Live co-editing!

From now on, Live Co-editing in Photoshop (beta) offers users to test a long-awaited feature. In fact, it will be possible for several people to access and modify the same Photoshop document at the same time.Manipulations can obviously be done from different computers, allowing creativity and collaboration to be shared.

Changes are visible livewhich reduces file exchanges and improves coordination – and of course speeds up the workflow or learning among students. We will finally be able to say goodbye to working files whose name required patience and memory (bye bye therefore version 1, version 2, version 47Bis, version 150124-0824 etc). It will also be possible to leave a comment and access it directly on the same document. Here again a saving of time on daily work.

There is no doubt thatAdobe also slipped in a little historyto access the previous stages and not destroy them – which can be quite damaging in many situations.

Availability

According to Adobe, the function Live Co-editing follows on from numerous requests from its subscribers and would have been informed by community feedback. The aim being – as we suspect – toaccelerate content creation, streamlines communication and improves creative collaboration for creators, teams or teachers.

For those who wish to take advantage of it and test this new function, you will need to register for the private beta on the dedicated page. For the moment, no official publication date for a final version has been communicated. Once the beta testing phase is closed, the feature should be integrated into the desktop and web versions of Photoshop. Unfortunately it is not done no mention of transposing the function to iPad.
