Tennis – Open d’Australie 2025 : Djokovic beats Faria
Novak Djokovic, seeded No. 7, advanced to the third round of the Australian Open, winning three sets to one (6-1, 6-7 [4]6-3, 6-2) in 3 hours of play against Portuguese qualifier Jaime Faria on Wednesday.
The Serb, as in the previous round against another emerging player, Nishesh Basavareddy, could not help but lose a set (4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2), even if he did not create any serious fear.
The match ended under the roof of the Rod Laver Arena due to rain.
Djokovic, now ranked No. 7 in the ATP, will face No. 26 seed Tomas Machac in the third round of the 2025 Australian Open.
