Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic confirmed her impressive first-round victory against Jelena Ostapenko by winning two sets to zero (6-1, 7-6 [3]) against the Dutch Suzan Lamens on Wednesday in Melbourne

Bencic, now 294th in the WTA, will face the winner of the upcoming match between No. 20 seed Karolina Muchova and Japanese Naomi Osaka in the third round of the Australian Grand Slam.
