Mercato OM: OM would consider recruiting Pogba, according to the Italian press

Olympique de has great ambitions, and a name has made supporters dream in recent days: Paul Pogba. According to La Gazzetta dello Sportthe Marseille club, under the leadership of its president Pablo Longoria, would consider the arrival of the French international. This transfer could be the icing on the cake of an already very promising season. Under the leadership of Roberto De Zerbi, OM currently occupies second place in Ligue 1 and is posting performances that make it one of the best teams in the five major European championships.

Asked last December about this possibilityPablo Longoria had opened the door while remaining cautious. “At the moment, we are in a positive dynamic, so we do not want to change the balance that has been created in the team, especially in the last few weeks. […] We will seize opportunities if there are any, but while maintaining the balance of the group”he explained. This declaration already hinted at a measured strategy, between sporting ambitions and economic constraints. On the specific case of Pogba, Longoria did not hide his admiration for the player, whom he knows well since his time at Juventus. “Paul, he’s an extraordinary player, an extraordinary person. […] Yes, we sent him messages because we were happy for him. […] There are no advanced discussions. […] These are above all dreams more than a reality in the market.” Recently, the Court of Arbitration for Sport significantly reduced the midfielder’s punishment. At 31, the 2018 world champion will be able to play again from March 2025.
