NHL: The Lightning crack down on Brayden Point

The management of the Tampa Bay Lightning has cracked down on its forward Brayden Point who missed a team meeting.

The organization announced Tuesday evening that the forward will be left out for the evening game against the Boston Bruins, specifying that this was as a result of his absence for the match.

The Lightning are just ahead of the Bruins in third place in the Atlantic Division with 49 points to 47. The Tampa team is, however, four less behind their rivals.

In 37 games this season, Point has 25 goals, a high among his teammates. His 48 points give him third place behind Nikita Kucherov (62) and Brandon Hagel (48).
