Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius announced on Tuesday that he has found a new club in Germany.
The 2018 Champions League final against Real Madrid, which ended in a 3-1 defeat for the Reds, marked his last match with the team and became a nightmare for the German goalkeeper, who was directly involved in two of the three goals scored by the Spanish team, leading to strong criticism.
Just five days after the match, he was diagnosed with a concussion following an elbow received from Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos early in the game.
Karius signed with Schalke, a club currently playing in the German second division, where Karel Geraerts recently played before being fired.

Having spent two seasons on loan at Besiktas in Turkey, the German goalkeeper then moved to Union Berlin and Newcastle, where he made just two appearances in two years.
Without a club since July 2024, Loris Karius, aged 31, finally finds a way out at Schalke, a historic club in German football now in difficulty in the middle of the table in the second division.
