The fires that have been devastating Los Angeles for several days have already caused the death of 24 people and destroyed more than 12,000 homes. Among the latter is the house of Victoria DeSantis. As reported by ABC News, this American woman was forced to evacuate her home, located in the Altadena district, on the night of January 8. She rushed to shelter her daughter and her dog and thus forgot, in the rush, her rings which she had placed on purpose near the front door.

When she found her husband, she told him that she had left her rings there, but he reassured her by saying that he would buy her more. “I left with two pairs of jeans and two sweaters,” she says. All my childhood memories, all my children’s childhood memories, everything is gone. »

“Now you’re definitely stuck with me.”

Indeed, once Victoria DeSantis was able to return to her home, she realized that her house, which she had lived in for twenty years, had been reduced to ashes. The firefighters then began helping him look for his rings. The mother first got her hands on her engagement ring through the ruins, but the ring had completely melted.

Later, a firefighter finally found the wedding ring, miraculously preserved from the flames. Determined to laugh at the situation despite the drama, the American immediately sent a photo of the ring to her husband, accompanied by the following caption: “Now you are definitely stuck with me. »
