Don’t miss the film “Around the Fire,” directed by Laura Cazador and Amanda Cortes! Scenicly very successful and rich in archives, this documentary gives voice to two actors known from the radical left of the 80s and to three young women, currently in the breach. Even if we once thought the protest was dormant, any crushing causes – whether we like it or not – a front of refusal to emerge.

All societal violence generates resisters, not necessarily directly affected, but impervious to intimidation and sanctions. Even if the fight against the capitalist steamroller, the desecration of nature, colonialism, is fundamentally unequal, a fringe of individuals will inexorably take action, whatever the cost.

How else can we decode the wave of sympathy aroused, well beyond the United States, by Luigi Mangione, a brilliant young man who drew a line under his own life to face the consequences of the elimination of the boss of United Healthcare, actor to carnivorous venality? It is fortunate that the film “Autour du feu” was able to be made and screened in Geneva. Above all, don’t miss it!
