the new foldable drone for vloggers and beginners

DJI today unveiled the DJI Flip, a lightweight drone weighing less than 249g, designed for vloggers and aerial photography enthusiasts. Compact, foldable and equipped with complete protections for the propellers, it targets above all safety and ease of use. Despite its mainstream positioning, it integrates a powerful camera and several advanced features to simplify video and photo capture.

Safety-focused design

The DJI Flip innovates with its foldable carbon fiber propeller guards, a first for DJI. These protections reduce the risk of accidents for novice pilots while ensuring the robustness of the drone. The lightweight structure does not weigh down the device, which remains compliant with the regulations for category C0 drones in Europe. Its automatic braking system, activated by a 3D infrared sensor, ensures safe flights, even indoors or in congested areas.

A camera that rivals more expensive models

Equipped with a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, the DJI Flip captures 48 MP photos and 4K videos at up to 60 fps. The f/1.7 aperture and 2.4 μm 4-in-1 pixels provide good contrast management in low light conditions. The drone also offers advanced modes such as slow motion in 4K at 100 fps or HDR video for more detailed sequences. Thanks to SmartPhoto technology, it combines HDR and scene recognition to optimize colors and details.

Automated features for simplified use

DJI has integrated six automated shooting modes on the Flip, including Dronie, Helix and Boomerang, accessible via the DJI Fly application or directly from the radio control. These modes make it easy to capture complex images without requiring technical skills. AI subject tracking keeps a person or object in frame, convenient for vloggers on the go.

Its DJI O4 video transmission technology guarantees a range of 13 km in 1080p at 60 fps, useful for panoramic shots. The drone can operate with or without radio control, via a smartphone connected to the DJI Fly application.

Price and availability

The DJI Flip is available now from €439. Three configurations are offered : the basic model with one battery, the version with RC 2 radio control (€639) and the Fly More Combo with three batteries and a carrying bag (€779).
