One of the cyclists dies after the accident involving a driver in Rouen

After the accident which occurred, around 9 a.m., this Tuesday January 14, 2025rue Alsace-Lorraine, in Rouen (Seine-Maritime), between a vehicle and several cyclists, the most seriously injured victim diedinformed the Rouen public prosecutor, Sébastien Gallois, at the beginning of the afternoon.

An open investigation

According to his information, the vehicle first hit a cyclist, then, further on, two others, in the streets of downtown Rouen, before continuing its course out of the city. The driver, born in 1977, was finally arrested in the Buchy sector by the gendarmerie and placed in police custody.

“Witnesses reported possible suicidal intentions,” specifies Sébastien Gallois.

The prosecution went to the scene of the incident. The prosecutor announced that the Rouen judicial police are responsible for the investigation.
