The P. Didy affair behind the fires in Los Angeles? A look back at these crazy conspiracy theories that are shaking up the web

Among the most popular theories is that linking these devastating fires to the P. Diddy affair. According to this account, the fires were deliberately lit to remove incriminating evidence targeting other high-ranking public figures who could be implicated in this vast sex trafficking investigation. The rapper, who is in prison on the other side of the United States, in New York, is accused of having abused men and women, sometimes minors, during debauched evenings attended by other stars and political figures would have participated.

P. Diddy involved?

Internet users have been trying for months to put a name to the rapper’s possible accomplices. For conspiracy theorists, the fires would therefore come at just the right time. If the videos and publications talking about this theory have been viewed millions of times, it was also mentioned by a former collaborator of George Bush, Catherine Austin Fitts. In her Financial Rebellion podcast, this 74-year-old woman, formerly in charge of urban development, explained that it was “hard to believe that the fires were not started from the sky or from the suborbital platform”. According to her, the fires would help hide evidence of pedophilia in Hollywood. “In situations like the Los Angeles fires, I see patterns…I see that there are certain communities involved…how many of their homes were on P. Diddy’s accomplice list?”

A theory which therefore involves Hollywood stars, but which forgets to take into account an essential point: the Diddy affair, if it has links with Los Angeles – one of the rapper’s villages was raided there -, also extends to the east coast of the country. His luxurious Miami home is at the heart of the investigation, while many of the famous parties where the abuse allegedly took place were held in the Hamptons. As for the rapper’s label, Bad Boy Records, its headquarters is in New York.

Mel Gibson’s point of view

Other theories also suggest the fires were set deliberately, not to cover up P. Diddy and his accomplices, but by the Californian government. On January 10, Mel Gibson, guest on Fox Newsimplied that local politicians, starting with Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom, were involved in the tragedy. “It’s crazy to think that, but one wonders whether or not there is something behind all this. What could it be? Did they want to empty the state? I don’t know not “, he said. He continued by asserting that the authorities “are doing things with water”, referring to the lack of water reserves in the city. “I can make all kinds of horrible theories in my head, conspiracy theories, but I’m just saying it seems a little too easy to see that there was no more water”.

The issue of lack of water has been one of the main criticisms since the start of the fires. The mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, is particularly criticized for having decided to reduce the budget of local firefighters by $17.5 million. “The City of Los Angeles’ chronic underinvestment in our public infrastructure and public safety partners was evident and on full display over the past 24 hours”Los Angeles City Council member Traci Park, who represents Pacific Palisades, said last week. “I’m extremely concerned about this. I’m already working with my team to look into this more closely, and I think we have more questions than answers at this point.”

Mel Gibson continued his momentum, indicating that all the conditions seemed to exist to make these fires a tragedy. “The wind was perfect, and there were people willing and able to start fires. Were they commissioned to do so? Or were they just acting on their own? I don’t know. But they seem pretty good equipped.” The fires, which started on January 7, were fueled by intense drought and violent winds. The fire in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood may have started with the remains of a December 31 fireworks display.

Why don’t trees burn?

Another very popular theory which is very easily explained: that stating that the trees, particularly palm trees, should have burned as much as the houses. For conspiracy theorists, the explanation is simple: the structures were directly attacked by secret weapons. Internet personality The Patriot Voice posted to his 141,000 subscribers on massive appropriation of land.

Scientists have a much more plausible explanation. Besides the fact that there are many photos showing charred trees, those that survived the flames were protected for a simple reason: “Of course, trees burn when fires are big and hot enough. But there’s a tree full of water and something really dry next to it, it’s the thing that was dry that will burn first So you can imagine that the fire could just go around if there is. enough fuel on each side,” Miranda said Hart, professor of biology and biotechnology at the Okanagan Institute for Biodiversity, Resilience and Ecosystems Services at the University of British Columbia, CBC.

The fires in Los Angeles have already killed at least 24 people. Firefighters were still fighting this Monday, January 13, against the flames which spread over 112 square kilometers in the densely populated Los Angeles County. Most significantly, the Pacific Palisades Fire has ravaged nearly 10,000 acres, destroyed thousands of structures and was only 11% contained as of Monday. The Eaton Fire in Altadena is now over 5,600 acres and 27% contained. The Hurst Fire, near Sylmar, has burned 310 hectares and is 89% contained.
