It often happens that an album released a long time ago becomes number 1 when the artist or an important member of the group who recorded it dies. It happens more rarely because an artist’s house burned down.

However, this is what has just happened on the sidelines of the violent fires which have destroyed, over the past week, large portions of neighborhoods located in the suburbs of Los Angeles.
To provide financial assistance to their idol who lost his home, admirers of singer and actress Heidi Montag listened en masse to her album Superficialreleased in 2010, to the point where, by the end of the week, it reached the top of the iTunes charts in the United States, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Oman.

They fulfilled the request of her husband, Spencer Pratt. He asked them to listen to the album on online platforms in order to support them financially via the royalty system.
The couple are among a long list of celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal and Anthony Hopkins, who have had their homes burned to the ground.
Three songs stand out
Monday morning, in Canada, Superficial ahead of Bad Bunny’s latest addition to the charts, the film’s popular soundtrack Wicked and the new Ringo Starr album.
Three Heidi Montag songs even appeared in the top 100, including the title track from Superficialwhich is number 1 in the United States and New Zealand.
“Thank you for your incredible love and support of my music and for rallying behind us during these devastating times,” a grateful Heidi Montag said in a video posted to TikTok.
However, the story does not say what amount of royalties will be paid to the singer and if it will be enough to start the reconstruction work.
