Knighted by Elizabeth II a few months before her death, Camilla was able to take the title of queen consort when Charles ascended the throne. But when he disappears, it is William who will become king and Catherine will wear the crown of queen.
Against all expectations, Camilla should inherit the title of “queen dowager”, that is to say the widow of the king. And not that of “queen mother”, as was the case for the mother of Elizabeth II for example, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, unforgettable Queen Mum. Quite simply because Camilla will not be the mother of the new monarch, but only his mother-in-law.
