The Appameans once again in their best role: reacting during a last quarter where they won everything. Victorious over Portet-sur-Garonne (60-54), the Ariégeoises take an option on the podium.

UO PAMIERS 60- RC PORT 54

One certainty for 2025: the long truce and the new year have not changed the women of the UOP. Accustomed to starts in diesel mode and the last minutes of fire, the Yellow and Black did not deviate from their rule. In bad shape for three quarters of the match, they once again managed to impose their law and achieve a victory which seemed rather poorly started.
The polar cold which reigned at La Rijole quickly numbed the players and it was at a slow pace that this crucial meeting for the podium began. The size of the Haut-Garonnaises essentially responds to the liveliness of Salomé Marsault, who collects points and often makes shots. Deprived of its senior interior players (Pamiers did without Chloé Massat, Charlye Garcia and Camille Danné), the UOP struggles to respond to the physical challenge and is often dominated on the rebound. Not in an exceptional day in terms of their skill, the Ariégeoises let Portet slip away in the middle of the second quarter. The Appameans then trailed by around ten points (16-25) before finishing the half well (24-29).

The break did not, however, resolve all the problems on the Pamiers side. Between stereotypical attacks and a struggling rebound, the Ariégeoises find themselves in difficulty again as they approach the last quarter which they reach with a deficit of six units (39-45). But the Appameans made a specialty of finishing their match with a cannonball. Or to be more exact, to react urgently when the meeting is about to get away from them. Rather average so far, the yellow and black defense achieved feats despite a few missed rebounds which could have been costly. On the other side of the floor, Salomé Marsault is less alone in distilling the danger, Manon Facchetti then Marine Rouch, with a difficult and important shot, allows the UOP to definitely take the lead. On the scoreboard and in the ranking where they moved up to third place. After two consecutive defeats, the Appameans are smiling again.
Agenda.- Wednesday evening, at 8:30 p.m., Coupe de la Garonne against Fousseret. Derby against Lézat, next Sunday in the championship, at 3:30 p.m., at La Rijole.
