Near Marseille. A house explodes, seven people were inside

An explosion, probably due to a gas leak, shook a 200 m² house in Carry-le-Rouetnear Marseille, this Sunday January 12, 2025.

The incident, which partially blew the house away, left several people lightly injured, learns Marseille news, thus confirming information of Provence.

A violent explosion

According to initial findings, a gas leak was the cause of the explosion which seriously damaged the house. The building, with an area of ​​200 m², was partially destroyed by the blast, throwing debris several meters.

Contacted by Marseille newsthe Bouches-du-Rhône firefighters confirmed the deployment, around 11:15 a.m., of around twenty firefighters and five engines.

Seven people affected

At the time of the incident, seven people were in the house. Four of them escaped unhurt, but two suffered minor injuries. Another person, more seriously affected, suffers from burns at the level of the head and hands. She was taken to Martigues hospital to receive appropriate care.

A investigation was opened to determine precisely the circumstances of this explosion. In the meantime, the tenants of the house have been temporarily relocated.
