A seven-month-old infant died Sunday morning in a fire in an apartment in Elbeuf (Seine-Maritime), announced the Prosecutor’s Office.

“Three other children, the oldest twelve years old, as well as the mother were taken to Rouen hospital, where they are in care,” said the public prosecutor of Rouen, Sébastien Gallois, in a press release sent Sunday afternoon, specifying that the deceased baby was only seven months old and not nine as previously indicated by another source.

“This morning, in Elbeuf, in a political district of the city, an infant died in his home due to a fire. I am thinking of the victims, of his brothers and sisters, of the injured, of the family and loved ones,” reacted on X the Minister Delegate for the City, Juliette Méadel.
