The president of the national chamber of distributors of domestic gas cylinders, Mohamed Mnif, declared this Monday that the crisis of shortage of domestic gas cylinders should be resolved soon. He specified that Tunisia has already received two gas shipments out of a total of twelve planned, with the remaining ten expected by the end of January.
During a telephone intervention in the show Sbeh El Ward on Jawhara FM, Mohamed Mnif explained that this crisis began because of the impossibility for a ship loaded with gas to dock in Tunisian ports, due to bad weather conditions.
He also stressed that the supply situation has improved in the governorates of Monastir, Gabès and Sfax but that the pace still remains low in the regions of Sousse, Kairouan and the northwest of the country.
Concerning the price of gas cylinders, Mohamed Mnif recalled that it is set at 8.8 dinars. He further specified that the economic control teams of the Ministry of Commerce and those of the Ministry of the Interior intervened to limit overruns linked to an arbitrary increase in prices practiced by certain resellers.
