Co-creator with his brother of the magazine Monde then quarterly We Tomorrow and son of the magazine’s founder VSD Maurice Siegel, the journalist and press boss François Siegel died on Saturday at the age of 75, his family announced to Agence France-Presse (AFP) on Sunday January 12.
“His wife Catherine, his brother Jean-Dominique, and the teams of We Demain and Info-Pilote [magazine d’aviation dont François Siegel était directeur de la rédaction] have the immense sadness to announce the death of François Siegel »his family said in a statement.
“François Siegel began his journalistic career alongside his father Maurice Siegel in 1977 with the creation of the weekly VSD”of which he had become “publishing director in 1981 and also editorial director in 1985”recalled his family.
In 2000, with their company GSPresse, the Siegel brothers created The World the monthly magazine The World 2which has become today M, the magazine of the World. The Siegel brothers then created in 2012 We Tomorrowof which François Siegel was publishing and editorial director. This review, whose ambition is to “deciphering the change of times”was bought in October by the magazine press group Unimédias, but François Siegel retained his functions.
Pilot and aviation enthusiast, François Siegel has been the editorial director ofInfo-Pilotalongside its other functions.
