In 2024, Algeria has established itself as the leading gas exporter to Spain, representing 38.5% of the European country’s gas imports. According to data published by the specialized platform « Attack« Algerian exports reached 131.2 terawatt hours (TWh) in 2024, compared to 116.3 TWh in 2023.
After Algeria, Russia occupies second position with 72 TWh (21.3%), a volume similar to that of 2023. The United States, for their part, is placed in third position with 55.4 TWh ( 16.6%), with a sharp drop compared to the 83.9 TWh recorded in 2023 and 128.8 TWh in 2022.
