Brazilian Lucas Moraes won the 7th stage of the Dakar 2025 in Saudi Arabia this Sunday, tarnished by confusion on the route.
The stage, a loop in the Al Duwadimi region, fell to the Brazilian at the wheel of a Toyota with a time of 4h 01 min 49 sec, followed by the Swede Mattias Ekström at 7 min 41 sec and from the American Mitchell Guthrie at 9:28, both on Ford.
In the provisional general classification, the South African leader Henk Lategan (Toyota) is only 21 seconds ahead of the Saudi Yazeed al-Rajhi (Overdrive). Mattias Ekström is 3ᵉ at 10 min 25 sec.
This Sunday, due to an error at km 158 of the car route in the “roadbook”, the route guide for the participants, the leader of the race lost his way off the course.
-Wasting precious time, she wandered until a helicopter from the organization came to put the cars back on the right path. As a result, the organizers had to erase the times on a section of around twenty kilometers of the special.
“When you want to do the roadbook, do it well. You have to check it many, many times. Because it was a disaster, it posed a big risk”the Qatari got annoyed Nasser al-Attiyah (Dacia) upon arrival.
