The actors of the emergency services, the SDIS of Côte-d’Or, the CHU and urgent medical transport, have signed an agreement to coordinate their action throughout the department.

25,400 annual interventions for the Côte-d’Or SDIS, 32,000 for urgent medical transport and 5,000 interventions by the SAMU and SMUR, in Côte-d’Or, 75% of firefighters’ missions concern rescue to the person compared to 82% at the national level. “ This difference is due to the actions we take » summarizes Hubert Poullot, president of the SDIS of Côte-d’Or. The three actors converge towards the same public service mission objective while integrating an economic dimension. “ We have a logic of territorial coverage so that the service provided to the population is strictly the same everywhere. »
To respond to this dual challenge, the SDIS of Côte-d’Or, the CHU and the emergency medical transporters have renewed their agreement. This document, which few departments are putting in place, supplements the provisions of the Matras law of November 2021. “ It integrates new missions assigned to the SDIS and authorizes actions previously prohibited to firefighters. » Since the law, in the case of functional emergencies with a need to act, firefighters can intervene in strokes, chest pains or even inject adrenaline in cases of severe allergic reactions. Ultimately, paramedics should also be trained.

The convention reinforces the general framework established by law. “ She goes into more detail. Even if we each have our missions, it is a real collaboration with points of agreement for the same public service mission, on a daily basis. » specifies Freddy Serveaux, general director of the University Hospital. This agreement, specific to the Côte-d’Orien territory, facilitates the relations and operations of the various emergency services. Through a common interface, a symbol of their good understanding, rescue workers constantly share each other’s resources and availability. The role of urgent medical transport has been highlighted in particular by the SDIS and the CHU. “ The mobilization of medical transporters, who are on call 24 hours a day and are committed, relieves the SDIS of missions relating to medical transport. » For his part, Bruno Derossi, representative of the profession, is delighted with the work carried out jointly. “ This agreement is constructive, it helps us improve and professionalize ourselves. » This consideration of their role also contributes to a recognition that medical transporters were lacking at the time.
