For not having managed to make the difference despite a clear domination, the Montalbanais had to concede a new sharing of points at home, this Saturday evening, against Toulouse/Aucamville (1-1).
The Méfécites had ended the previous year in the most frustrating way possible, with an equalizing goal conceded at the end of stoppage time against Biars-Bretenoux. This Saturday evening, it was a new draw which sanctioned the performance of the Montalbanais, and it was once again with lowered heads that Mehdi Boudjerrou’s men returned to the locker room, the fault of a major inefficiency. Dominating is not winning, and the MFC-TG measured it perfectly on this chilly Saturday evening at Ramier, as they multiplied the opportunities, but neither efficiency nor luck was there. Particularly during a first act that Loïc Laincer’s teammates will copiously dominate, but without ever finding the opening. So much so that we are witnessing a real attack-defense: a magnificent action with Jordan Robert on his short side, finding no one, Jalal Amri sees his header pass just above (5th), a distant free kick from Rayan Zouaoui is narrowly deflected by the Toulouse goalkeeper (18th), nothing smiles. Worse when a shot from Matthieu Guerbert brushed against the opposing post, while an entire stadium was betting for the opener (29th). Just before the break, Loïc Laincer even thought about pushing a superb cross from a corner, but the ball was deflected extremely narrowly. We then think that nothing will be scored when, on the only occasion of the visitors’ first act, and a superbly executed counterattack, Yanis Benahlal recovers a ball at the far post to open the score, after a personal exploit, and having dribbled past the unfortunate Mickaël Roig who had absolutely nothing to do until then, he who was making his comeback to competition, after two months of absence.

Returning from the locker room, you don’t have to wait long to see the Montalbanais equalize on an off-center free kick from Rayan Zouaoui which passes through the middle of a forest of legs, before hitting the post and entering the goal (48th) . We say to ourselves that the hardest part seems to be done for the Tarn-et-Garonnais but they will never manage to make the difference. And yet, it’s not for lack of trying, trying to get through on all sides. Dominated, the Toulouse residents will then rely on carrying the danger to counter-pests. Twenty minutes from time, Wassim Daoudi watches his 25-meter shot rise into the sky, but it falls… on François Andral’s crossbar. The Montalbanais who will be very scared at the end of the match when Mickaël Roig will save the homeland on two occasions, in two face-to-face matches with Dorian Baylac.
