Joe Biden has been working to provide as much aid as possible to Kyiv ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he spoke with his American counterpart Joe Biden on Friday and thanked him for his “unfailing support”, less than two weeks before he ceded power to Donald Trump.
Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Joe Biden for his “unwavering support for Ukraine’s independence and for the vital role the United States has played in unifying the international community,” the Ukrainian leader said in a message on X.
Trump promises to resolve conflict in ’24 hours’
Joe Biden has been working to provide as much aid as possible to kyiv ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, out of concern that his successor would scale back his support once in office.
-Donald Trump has promised to resolve the conflict within “24 hours” upon his return to the White House, raising fears that Ukraine will be forced to make major concessions in exchange for peace. However, Moscow has gained ground in recent months, while the exhausted Ukrainian army still lacks resources.
Volodymyr Zelensky also said he “expressed (his) condolences for the devastating fires in California and the tragic loss of human lives”.
