A new product recall of pet food has emerged in France. And the least we can say is that it concerns many brands. Consumers must therefore exercise extreme caution.
A product recall concerning kibble
At the end of last December, a massive product recall on dog and cat kibble emerged. And now, there are new references concerned by salmonella contamination. This recall concerns many brands sold throughout France, with risks for animal health.
The Rappel Conso website has published a list of affected products. Among them, several references from the Netto brand are affected. Beef and poultry kibbles intended for large dogs are the first to be the subject of this product recall.
These products were released between November 13 and December 26, 2024. Another Netto brand product remains affected. This is a mixture of poultry, cereal and vegetable kibble, specifically intended for senior dogs.

These 2 kg kibbles were released between November 15 and December 26, 2024. The last Netto product concerned remains a bag of kibble for cats, with salmon and vegetables. These kibbles were sold in various formats between November 7 and December 26, 2024.
In addition to Netto, other popular brands also remain affected by this product recall. This is the case for Canaillou croquettes. This contamination also affects two references of this brand.
The first concerns carrot, chicken and milk kibble for kittens from 2 to 12 months. The second is a grain-free recipe, rich in poultry, vegetables and fruit, or based on salmon, vegetables and fruit.
Very dangerous symptoms
These kibbles were released in all Intermarché stores in France between November 13 and December 24, 2024. Others Elwin brand dog food also remain affected by this product recall.
-In fact, these are 15 kg bags of beef kibbles put on sale from November 18, 2024. Finally, Croc Cat brand kibbles, with a 4 kg format, are also part of the recalled products. Stores put these bags on sale starting November 19, 2024.

If these products are the subject of a product recall, it is because of the presence of salmonella. As Rappel Conso indicates, “Food poisoning caused by salmonella results in gastrointestinal disorders (diarrhea, vomiting) sudden onset often accompanied by fever« .
Before specifying that these symptoms “generally occur 6 to 72 hours after consumption of contaminated products”. The symptoms can therefore be very serious and affect the well-being of animals, or even lead to complications in certain cases.
Faced with this situation, animals should definitely not consume these kibbles. If you have purchased these products, you should no longer use them. You must also return them to the stores in order to obtain a refund.
If you have purchased one of the kibbles listed in the product recalls, you must at all costs check the reference and the marketing date to ensure that they are indeed part of the products concerned.
You can then contact the brand’s point of sale or customer service to request a refund or more information on the steps to follow.
