The event originally scheduled for this weekend with major nominations like Wicked et Conclave is postponed to January 26.
The Critics Choice Awards ceremony, one of the events of the annual awards season in Hollywood, has been postponed due to the devastating fires currently raging in Los Angeles, organizers told AFP on Wednesday.
The event rewarding the world of cinema and television each year, which was initially scheduled to take place on Sunday January 12, has for the moment been postponed to Sunday January 26, according to the head of the Critics Choice Association, Joey Berlin.
On the official ceremony networks, the president of the event gave more details regarding the reorganization of the ceremony: « The rescheduled event will take place at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California and will be broadcast live on E! and around the world. It will also be available on Peacock the following day. »
The latter then expressed his emotion at the events: « This unfolding tragedy has already had a profound impact on our community. All our prayers go out to those battling the devastating fires and all those who have been affected. »
The critics jury of the Broadcast Film Critics Association selected, for their 30th ceremony, Conclave et Wicked with 11 nominations each. Dune : Part Two et Emilia Perez They follow closely with 10 nominations each, including that for best film. The best film category is completed by A Complete Unknown, Anora, The Brutalist, Nickel Boys, Sing Sing et The Substance.
