On Wednesday January 8 at 9:10 p.m., TF1 launches the series Elsbeth. A spin-off of the successes Good Wife et The Good Fightwhich will be worn by Carrie Preston. An actress who no longer expected such a role!
Notice to fans of investigations of all kinds, TF1 will offer you a new series this Wednesday: Elsbeth. If this name means something to you, that’s normal, because this is the spin-off of the series The Good Wife et The Good Fighthaving made the news from 2009 to 2022. As you have understood, their creators Robert and Michelle King will take a closer interest in lawyer Elsbeth Tascioni. A pretty wacky character that Carrie Preston would have liked to play earlier in her career.
-Elsbeth : the New York adventures of a lawyer like no other
Extremely eccentric, instinctive and full of energy, Elsbeth Tascioni is not a lawyer like any other. Always able to master the most complicated files, it is with a great reputation that she will join the Big Apple. In New York, it is as an observer for the Ministry of Justice that she will act, taking charge of supervising the agreements between the entity and the criminals… Well, that’s what that we believed, because she will have to investigate the contested methods of the NYPD. In the middle of a department that doesn’t necessarily view her favorably, Elsbeth will even become a full-fledged investigator!
Carrie Preston : “I didn’t know that I dreamed of being at the center of a series”
Carrie Preston cherishes this role as an original investigator. However, she did not imagine that one day, Elsbeth Tascioni would have her own series. This is what she revealed to our Belgian colleagues from Ciné Télé Revue : “I was very happy to have supporting roles. And I didn’t know that I dreamed of being the center of a series until Michelle and Robert King told me about the idea of a series about Elsbeth. Idea suggested during confinement by a journalist from New York Times, who was ironing the Columbo : ‘We don’t want a new Columbo, we want Elsbeth in her own series!’” With a smile, Carrie Preston, 57, admitted that she wished such a role had come earlier in her career: “Part of me wishes something this big had happened to me when I was younger, for my energy. But I definitely have it in me to carry this series.”
