Wednesday marked a new beginning for Yaya Touré, a legend of Ivorian football. Holder of the UEFA A License, the former Manchester City player took an important step in his career by obtaining the UEFA Pro Coaching License. This qualification allows him to lead a professional team throughout Europe.
On Wednesday January 8, 2025, Yaya Touré shared this exciting news on her social media: “I am delighted to announce that I have obtained my UEFA Professional License! I have learned a lot throughout this training and I’m even more excited to see what I can achieve as a coach. Thank you to the FA mentors and to my friends and family for their support.”
Since his retirement in 2019, Yaya Touré has dedicated himself to his transition into coaching. He has gained valuable experience, notably with Olimpik Donetsk in Ukraine (2020), Akhmat Grozny in Russia (2021), and within the technical staff of Tottenham. These steps marked his journey towards the UEFA Pro License, an essential qualification for coaches with international ambitions.

By obtaining this precious sesame, Yaya Touré joins the small group of Ivorian coaches with this qualification, alongside his older brother, Kolo Touré.
Recently, Yaya Touré joined the technical staff of Roberto Mancini, who manages the Saudi national team. On November 20, he also visited the players of Étoile Carouge, a Swiss Ligue 2 team, thanks to his links with Adrian Ursea, the club’s coach.
