Adapted from the eponymous novel by Harlan Coben – who is also the showrunner – the six-episode detective mini-series tells the story of Inspector Kad Donovan whose fiancé disappeared eleven years ago. One day, his profile reappears on a dating app.
In addition to the question of a possible season 2, spectators excited about the series may wonder if a true story is hidden behind “I miss you”. To bring this plot to life, the American writer who became a master of the thriller partly drew inspiration from those around him. “It came from my friends in their forties, recently divorced and looking for love on dating apps,” the writer confided in an interview with the “Daily Mail”. He then wondered what would happen if a person found their ex-fiancé on a dating app, who had suddenly disappeared a few years earlier. For the rest, Harlan Coben’s overflowing imagination did the rest.
