Brigitte Macron was the guest of the 1 p.m. news on TF1, this Wednesday in the middle of the day.

This Wednesday, January 8 marked the launch of the Yellow Coins campaign, an operation which raises funds each year for the benefit of the Hospital Foundation for Sick Children.

Brigitte Macron chairs the operation and announced, this Wednesday on the 1 p.m. set of TF1, the broadcast, on all streaming platforms, of an anthem from the Pieces Jaunes, “Les P’tits soleils”.

Accompanied by Didier Deschamps who took the opportunity to announce his upcoming departure from the Blues, the First Lady was questioned about the operation which is close to her heart but also about the political context of the moment and in particular about the dissolution. She recognized that “the daily life of the French was very difficult” and that “everything is a factor of anxiety”. For her, “the French have difficulty seeing what can guarantee them a future when they do not understand the present.”

“I have not seen him disconnect a single day in 7 almost 8 years in office”

But she also assured that “in the 7 or 8 years that he has been president, I have never seen (the president) unplug for a single day.” Refusing to make “political fiction”, the First Lady thus confirmed that her husband, Emmanuel Macron, would complete his mandate, “this is the mission that the French gave him”.

“His daily life is the French.” “He puts all his intelligence and his heart at the service of the French, that’s all I can say. Afterwards, saying whether he is right or wrong is not the subject on which I must intervene” .

And Brigitte Macron confides in her husband’s state of mind. “Sometimes what he hears hurts him but he doesn’t say it, he keeps it to himself. Before, he spoke more easily but I understand it because, if there is one thing that Emmanuel deserves, it’s is respect.”

“I should ask for rights of reply”

The First Lady also returned to the comments that she believed were wrongly attributed to her. Several media outlets had indicated in recent weeks that “the French did not deserve her husband”. “I have not spoken to anyone on the subject so when certain newspapers have quoted relatives, know that I have not spoken to anyone and that I should ask for rights of response on these statements which are false”.

For Brigitte Macron, “it is history which will give the meaning of this dissolution”. “We are right in the middle of it, we have our noses in the handlebars, and we will then see what happens. Emmanuel explained his reasoning to me, I followed it but it is not up to me to say what I ‘think about it’.

Finally, the First Lady expressed the wish that “the French be gathered together, all together”.
