On July 1, 2025, Blondie singer Debbie Harry will reach a symbolic milestone : that of his 80 years. An important age for this rock icon who has experienced it all, from selling over 40 millions d’albumsin the fight against his dependencies and addictions.
On the occasion of this upcoming birthdaythe singer was interviewed by Time magazineand confided in complete transparency about his careerhis celebrity, his passion for fashion, but also his romantic relationships.
If age is not a barrier for the actress singer, the latter feels much better in his sneakers that a few years ago:
“I don’t walk around thinking every moment: ‘Oh my God, I’m going to be 80’ – but that’s kind of how I feel (…) My mother used to say that in her head she was 25 and I’m like her. But thinking about it all the time could lead to your downfall. And I don’t really want to have the same kind of life I had when I was younger. (…) This is the beauty of aging : you know what it is. You have it in your heart, in your soul and in your memory…” – Debbie Harry
Debbie Harry and romantic relationships: soon on apps?
When she is asked about her romantic relationships and if the singer has someone in her life, the latter has been quite cash.
“No ! God forbid! It terrifies me. No, I’m joking, but I don’t think a relationship is possible.” – Debbie Harry
The one who has long been dating Blondie co-founder Chris Steinwith whom she keeps a nice complicityis not very knowledgeable about the ways of meeting a potential partner, and in particular through dating apps. But the singer does not give up, and promises to get started on the application.
“Okay, okay, I’ll do it! And I’ll get back to you to let you know how it went. I’m not as adventurous as I used to be, but I’m still curious. I love the way the world turns” – Debbie Harry
Full of humor, the musician also added that the place where she flirted the most was… the DIY store.
“There are big, strong men there. I found someone I thought was really hot. He worked in the garden department. But he was busy. We looked at each other and I recognized that look” – Debbie Harry
