Three days before the release of “The Human Fear”, Franz Ferdinand continues to surprise and delight his fans. Invited to CBS Saturday SessionsAlex Kapranos and his companions performed their first three singles: “Bar Lonely”, “Audacious” et “Night or Day”. But that’s not all: the group took advantage of the opportunity to unveil a brand new unreleased track, also present on their next album planned for January 10.
The piece, titled “Hooked”however, is not a total surprise for the group’s most loyal admirers. Indeed, this song is already familiar, because it has been played in concert for several months. To accompany this release, the group shared an excerpt on their account Instagramrevealing some notable lyrics from the chorus:
“Gliding towards midnight, it’s a night prowler’s song.
If we all have a fear of man, then it’s good when we’re hooked.
I thought I knew what love was…but I met you.”
These lyrics, both poetic and enigmatic, suggest a dark and captivating atmosphere which could well define the general tone of the album.
