Education: Cyclical strike of deputies in Tizi Ouzou

Several dozen education supervisors and deputies gathered Monday in front of the education directorate headquarters in Tizi Ouzou to display their rejection of the new special status of education officials.

The action took place following the call for demonstrations launched by the National Union of Supervisors and Assistants of Education (SNSAE). The latter plans to raise the tone even more next week by inviting its members to two days of national strike, next Monday and Tuesday.

The demonstrators gathered on Monday in Tizi Ouzou displayed their dissatisfaction with “a status which has wronged and forgotten us”, they say, attesting that “the text is not in conformity with the commitments made by the President of the Republic”.

The SNSAE even demands the opening of an investigation to shed light on “the non-compliance of the said text, drawn up following the directives of the Head of State, and which in no way reflects the recommendations of the Council of Ministers”, underline – they.

The demonstrators thus believe “that in addition to not being equitable between all categories of civil servants in the education sector, the special status as it has been revealed does not ensure the valorization of diplomas for supervisors and assistants of education”.

For them, “the text does not value years of experience either, given that the conditions put in place for this same valuation are not accessible to us”. Another example, points contained in the text which pushed this category of workers in the sector to take to the streets, the increase in the compensation system of only 15%, considered insufficient by those concerned.
