Vice-president of the RN, Louis Aliot praises Jean-Marie Le Pen’s ability to impose the themes of his far-right party in the public debate. “I think that without him French politics today would be totally blind, deaf,” he said on TF1.

The ex-companion of Marine Le Pen, who joined the FN in 1990, prefers to present the father as “a great patriot, ward of the nation, volunteer in Indochina (…) who resigned from his post as deputy to go fight in Algeria.”

Like her, he learned of this death from journalists during a stopover during the journey to bring them back to mainland after a trip to Mayotte.

Marine Le Pen, whose relations with her father had warmed up, after years of tensions marked by the latter’s exclusion from the FN in 2015, paid tribute to him on he loves are waiting for him up there. Many people who love him are mourning him down here.
