The body of a man, wrapped in a blanket, was discovered buried in the garden of a house in Coutras on Tuesday. The owner of the premises was immediately taken into custody by the Libourne gendarmerie, as required by procedure in such circumstances. To our knowledge, the hearings have not yet resulted in any confessions.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the victim could be a 47-year-old man, whose disappearance had been reported several days ago. A hypothesis which must still be confirmed by the autopsy carried out this Wednesday. If the investigators’ suspicions are confirmed and the identity of the deceased is confirmed, the latter will then have been found dead and buried in his brother’s garden, according to our sources.
The criminal division of the Bordeaux public prosecutor’s office seized
The investigation, opened for involuntary manslaughter, is being carried out by the Libourne research brigade, jointly seized alongside the Bordeaux research section. In a press release, the public prosecutor of Libourne, Loïs Raschel, who had been seized of the investigation, announced that he was relinquishing it in favor of the criminal division of the Bordeaux public prosecutor’s office, which should therefore take charge of this case during the day.
