Collision between two barges in Mayotte

Tuesday January 7, around 7:30 a.m., a collision occurred between two barges off the coast of Grande-Terre Island in Mayotte. One of these boats carried the National Rally delegation, including Marine Le Pen. This information was confirmed by the Maritime Transport Service (STM) and the National Rally (RN).

No serious injuries among members of the RN

According to party statements to 42mag.fr, Marine Le Pen and other members of the delegation did not suffer any injuries. However, some people on the barges were thrown during the incident, resulting in five minor injuries. The STM indicated that these people were transported to hospital to receive treatment.

Return to mainland after the accident

After this accident, Marine Le Pen and her delegation were picked up by the border police to be escorted safely. Their three-day visit to the archipelago coming to an end, they headed to Petite-Terre airport to take a flight to the metropolis.
