In an exciting development for the club, AFC Bournemouth have officially confirmed the acquisition of the young left-back Julio Soler. This promising 19-year-old player has left the Argentinian club Woolsigning a long-term contract which underlines the Cherries’ ambition for the future.
This signing marks Bournemouth’s second first team arrival during the January transfer window, following the arrival of Matai Akinmboni from DC United. Plus, former Chelsea academy goalkeeper Kai Compton joined the squad this week with a professional contract.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Bournemouth’s chairman of football operations, Tiago Pintoexpressed his joy at Soler’s arrival: “We are delighted to welcome Julio to AFC Bournemouth. He is a player we are following closely, and we have been very impressed with his development.”

Born on February 16, 2005 in Paraguay, Soler moved to Argentina at a young age, joining the Lanus training center when he was just nine years old. Since his debut in 2022, he has played 58 matches for the club.
In addition to his club duties, Soler captained the Argentina under-20 team and was part of the squad for the Paris Olympics last summer, where he made four appearances.
