Tkings daughters in the footsteps of their father. Jean-Marie Le Pen, co-founder of the National Front (now National Rally), died at the age of 96 on Tuesday January 7. If the man distinguished himself as a figure of the French extreme right, he was also the father of three daughters, who followed his path into politics. Marie-Caroline, Yann and Marine are the fruit of his union with his first wife, Pierrette.

Marine, born in 1968, is the youngest of Jean-Marie’s three daughters, and the best known. In 1986, she entered politics within the FN, the main far-right party led by her father. After holding several local mandates, she took over as president of the party in 2011, before leaving the head of the movement ten years later. This is when she launches her campaign for the 2022 presidential election.

Marie-Caroline, the eldest
Marie-Caroline Le Pen, born in 1960, is the eldest of three girls. From her youth, she became involved in the National Front and with her father. But she left the party in 1998, following her husband Philippe Olivier, to join the National Republican Movement of Bruno Mégret. This split causes a lasting break with his father.
She returned to the family fold at the end of the 2010s by reconciling with her sister Marine. She finally returned to the flame party in 2016. Marie-Caroline is the mother of five children, including Nolwenn Olivier, former partner of Jordan Bardella, the current president of the National Rally.

Yann Le Pen, born in 1963, is the most discreet in the media. But in the shadows, she played a key role within the National Front. She got involved at a young age in the flame party where she worked behind the scenes, first as a switchboard operator then by organizing events. She also worked as a parliamentary assistant for Bruno Gollnisch between 2009 and 2014.
She has a daughter, Marion Maréchal-Le Pen, born from her relationship with the journalist Roger Auque. The granddaughter of Jean-Marie Le Pen will follow the dynasty by also distinguishing herself in politics, first at the RN which she left for the party of Éric Zemmour before making a new break. She announced, in October 2024, that she would found her own movement, Identity-Libertés (IDL), committed to the victory of the RN in 2027.
