Monday morning, a head-on accident involving a heavy truck claimed the life of one person.

The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m., when a vehicle, with only one person on board, took Highway 40 in the wrong direction for reasons still unknown. The violent collision with a heavy goods vehicle took place near Boulevard de la Côte-Vertu, in the borough of Saint-Laurent.

The driver of the light vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver was not injured.

The accident caused significant traffic disruptions in the area, due to the presence of emergency services and the investigation carried out by the Sûreté du Québec.
