A depressurization in the cabin created a moment of fear on flight QC222 of Camair-Co this Sunday, January 5, 2025. The incident occurred while the aircraft was approaching Garoua international airport in northern Cameroon, we learned.
According to the official statement, the crew immediately deployed the oxygen masks to ensure the comfort and safety of the passengers. Strictly following the manufacturer’s emergency procedures, the pilots carried out a controlled descent towards Garoua airport.
Despite the passengers’ initial panic, the landing went smoothly. All occupants were able to disembark normally once the plane was on the ground. In an official press release, the general management of Camair-Co apologized to passengers for the incident.
The company says it immediately made the device available to technical teams for in-depth inspection. This measure aims to identify the exact causes of the depressurization and to guarantee the safety of future flights.
This event raised questions among public opinion about the maintenance of the fleet of Camair-Co. In recent years, several technical incidents have already affected the Cameroonian national company. Affected passengers expressed their concern on social media, calling for increased security measures.
