Philip Zinckernagel leaves Club Brugge for good

After terminating Dedryeck Boyata’s contract, Club Brugge has found a solution for Philip Zinckernagel. The Danish attacking midfielder has been transferred to the Chicago Fire.

Zinckernagel sign and MLS

“Philip Zinckernagel joins the Chicago Fire. After being loaned to Bodo Glimt from July 2023 to January 2024, the Dane is now leaving for the United States. Zinckernagel arrived from Olympiakos in the summer of 2023. In total, he will have defended our colors 44 times, scoring 7 times and providing 9 assists”, we can read in the Blauw en Zwart press release.

The ex-Standard player has signed a four-year contract with the American club. According to the Danish media Bold, Club Brugge will receive one million euros in the operation. A great sale for a player who only had six months left on his contract.

A more than successful transition to Standard

Zinckernagel will have especially left his mark on the Belgian championship during the 2022-2023 season with Standard. Under the orders of Ronny Deila, he scored 10 goals and provided 2 assists in 27 appearances.
